Spiral Interabang‽

SPIRAL INTERABANG?!
Tactile Project
Objective
Pick an artist and create a tactile piece to commemorate them.

Rationale
I chose Luther Montrose, also known as Luzumaki, with his easily recognisable pointillism style and spirals. He was inspired by Japanese style tattoos and horror manga like Ito Junji’s Uzumaki. (Uzumaki translates to spiral/vortex in Japanese)

The interrobang, also known as the interabang ‽, is an unconventional punctuation mark intended to combine the functions of the question mark and the exclamation mark. Thus, leading back to Lu wanting to provoke confusion and fear of the unknown, through his art.

Process
Ideation
Sketch of how the final piece is put together.
(I was still deciding if I should use "Interrobang" or "Interabang"
as the spelling, both are correct)
Wood Burning
Workshop
Laser cutting the acrylic, cutting the wood,  sandpapering the edges, and drilling precise holes into each panel to piece them together.
Pointillism on the acrylic panels and letting them dry.
The logo and caption was done using silk screen printing.
Final Artwork
Holding all 5 panels together are 4 acrylic rods with acrylic spacers, to create some distance between each panel to create more dimension through the piece, making it seem like you are  looking into an unknown depths.
